  • In the morning enjoy a walking tour of the town. The tour will start with a visit to one of Darjeeling’s most revered site - the Mahakal Dara that sits atop the Observatory Hill. This truly unique and spiritual place of worship is flocked daily by Buddhists, Hindus as well as indigenous Nature worshippers. Afterwards, the tour will take you to Gymkhana Club, St. Andrew’s Church, Chowrasta - Darjeeling’s main boulevard, Bhotia Busty Gompa, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, and Glenary’s - a family run confectionery and bakery.
  • After lunch at a local restaurant (included), head to the train station for Toy Train ride to Ghoom Monastery, one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Darjeeling. The toy train of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR), given heritage status by UNESCO, is a fascinating narrow gauge steam engine train still operates with the original steam engine and the loops and the zig-zags along the route are remarkable feats of engineering.
  • Continue to Dali Monastery, also known as Drukpa Kargyud Monastery, which is home to around 210 Tibetan monks. The prayer hall is quite beautiful with several huge cylindrical golden drums. Here the monks offer prayers with hum and chants and elaborate rituals. Take part in the evening prayers which is once-in-a-lifetime experience.
