We start in Jodhpur for the desert town of Jaisalmer, where you will explore the stunning fort, the sand dunes and the haunted village of Kuldhara.

Afterwards, you will be taken to Shekhawati region to see the beautiful painted havelis.

This tour is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience as takes you through the deserts of Rajasthan, where you get to experience its rich culture, food, and history.

  • This morning you will reach the meeting point in Jodhpur (place and time to be advised) and be driven to Jaisalmer (5 hours). Jaisalmer is located in the heart of the Thar Desert. In this arid wilderness, former rulers and merchants of Jaisalmer have built some of the most splendid residences out of sandstone. Overnight in Jaisalmer.
  • Later in the day, we will visit the nearby Kuldhara and continue to the Sand Dunes (where you could enjoy a camel ride, which is optional).
  • Kuldhara - Kuldhara was abandoned by the Paliwal Brahmins overnight. Several stories abound but nobody is really sure why the mass exodus took place. The ruins of Kuldhara are fine examples of architectural excellence of that era and are a treat for shutterbugs.
  • Sand Dunes - Visit some of the most picturesque sand dunes in the Thar Desert. Enjoy a glorious sunset before returning to Jaisalmer.
  • Camel Ride (optional): One of the most unforgettable and enchanting experiences you can have while in a desert is to ride through the rippling, windswept desert on camel back.
  • Today we will enjoy a tour of Jaisalmer - visiting Jaisalmer Fort and Trader's Mansions. Overnight in Jaisalmer.
  • Jaisalmer Fort - Standing proud at a height of hundred meters over the city with its 99 bastions, the Jaisalmer Fort is sheer magic and a splendid sight in the afternoon sun. Within the Fort is the Rawal's seven-storey palace with beautifully carved balconies and exquisitely carved temples and havelis built by the Jain community.
  • Trader's Mansions - Jaisalmer has some of the most magnificent havelis (mansions) with intricate carvings. The havelis worth visiting are the Salim Singh-ki-Haveli, Patwon-ki- Haveli and Nathmalji-ki-Haveli.
  • Today we will drive to Bikaner  (5-6 hours). The desert town of Bikaner was founded in the 15th century by Rao Bikaji - a descendant of the founder of Jodhpur, Jodhaji. Like many other Rajasthan cities, Bikaner is surrounded by a high wall and like its smaller sister to the south, Jaisalmer; it was once an important staging post on the great caravan trade routes. Overnight in Bikaner.
  • Later in the day, we will visit the Junagarh Fort.
  • Junagarh Fort - Built around 1587 A.D. to protect 37 palaces, temples and pavilions within, Jungarh Fort is one of its kinds. Today, the fort houses a museum of valuable miniature paintings and other rare items that are centuries old.
  • Junagarh Fort - Built around 1587 A.D. to protect 37 palaces, temples and pavilions within, Jungarh Fort is one of its kinds. Today, the fort houses a museum of valuable miniature paintings and other rare items that are centuries old.
  • Today we will drive to Shekhawati  (3 hours). The history of Shekhawati dates back to silk trade of ancient times. The area began to flourish after the trade from China to the Western world was diverted to ports of Western India over 2000 years ago. Although the towns have long since lost any importance they once had, what they have not lost is the amazing painted havelis (mansions), built by the merchants for their families. Overnight in Shekhawati.
  • Later in the day, we will visit some of the painted havelis.
  • Painted Havelis - Most of the buildings date back from the 18th century to early 20th century. These havelis are unremarkable from outside as all the attention has been given to the inner courtyards. They are decorated with murals and the theme of these murals encompasses traditional mythology, local legend, the folklore, personalities from Indian epics to even modernising symbols like trains!
  • Today we will drive to Delhi  (5-6 hours).  Delhi with its Old and New parts — each with its specific charm and glory — makes a very interesting city for its sustenance to medieval and modern cultures at the same time and space.  Overnight in Delhi.
  • Afternoon would be at leisure or you may explore on your own.
  • Today we will enjoy a tour of Delhi - visiting Jama Mosque, Old Delhi, Humayun's Tomb, Lutyen's Delhi and Qutab Minar. Overnight in Delhi.
  • Jama Mosque - This great mosque is the largest in India, with a courtyard capable of holding 25,000 devotees. It was begun in 1644 and ended up being the final architectural extravagance of Shah Jahan, the Mughal emperor who built the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort.
  • Walking Tour - Old Delhi is fun to explore in a walking tour - passing through some alleys and watching local people pursue their businesses and crafts which they have been doing for many generations.
  • Humayun's Tomb - Humayun's Tomb is a magnificent Mughal building built in 1565-66 and set in a square enclosed garden. This finely proportioned structure in red sandstone and marble served later as a model for the Taj Mahal.
  • Lutyen's Delhi - The interesting buildings of Lutyens’ Delhi are the India Gate, the Rashtrapati Bhawan (President's House) and Parliament House.
  • Qutab Minar - Dominating the ruins of the earliest existing settlement of Delhi is the city's famous landmark - the Qutab Minar. This imposing victory tower (73m) has five storeys, each marked by intricately carved projections or balconies. At the centre of the courtyard is the amazing Iron Pillar (4th-5th century A.D.), which has not rusted through the centuries.
  • Post breakfast you will check out of the hotel (before 11am) and  this trip comes to an end. You may proceed to your onward destination under own arrangements.
