  • You will begin this tour by exploring some significant architectural wonders in Old Ahmedabad. The first will be the Jama Masjid. Built in 1423, this mosque is constructed with salvaged remains of demolished Hindu and Jain temples. Next, you will visit the small Sidi Saiyad's Mosque which is noted for its beautifully carved stone windows which depict the intertwined branches of a tree. Your guide will also take you to the Shaking Minarets of Sidi Bashir's Mosque. In this fascinating structure, if you shake one minaret, the others resonate in harmony. However, their interconnecting terrace stands still. This mysterious phenomenon has increasingly given rise to an interest in the structure. Next, you will have the chance to satiate your culinary cravings with a food tour that will take you to some of the most well-known food outlets in the city. Gujarati cuisine is primarily vegetarian. Snacks, locally called farsan, are an important course of each meal. Your tour begins with a visit to a popular Gujarati snack shop selling famous Gujarati specialties such as Khakhra, Fafda, Khaman-Dhokla, Thepla, Ganthiya, Patra, Dalvada Undhiyu and Chola Fali, Dabeli, Sev, Farsan etc. The next stop will be a popular Chaat outlet (a kind of street food) where you will also try Pani Puri. Although chaat is available throughout North India, there is regional variation in the flavors. You will continue on to sample some other local dishes such as dal vada and Indian style pizza. For dessert, you will be taken to sample a kind of Indian ice-cream known as Kulfi. Available in every possible flavor, Kulfis are a delightful way to end any food walk. Lastly, you will enjoy a paan (an Indian mouth freshener and digestive) before heading back to your hotel.
