  • The interesting little quaint village of Eklingji (25 km from Udaipur) has a number of ancient temples. This complex consisting of 108 temples built of sandstone and marble dates back to 734 A.D. The temple of Eklingji is the Shaiva patron deity of the Udaipur royal house. It has a four-faced Shiva image of black marble. In fact, the entire temple is built of marble and even today, the Maharana of Udaipur visits it regularly.
  • On the way to Eklingji are the ruins of the ancient city of Nagda, where exquisitely carved temples, both Hindu (10th century) and Jain (15th century) are a treat for the eyes. These temples have intricate stone carvings and are in close proximity to a lotus pond.
